A seminar to raise awareness about prematurity was organized by the SIMS Pediatrics Department in collaboration with Pediatric department headed by Professor Tayyaba Khawar Butt.

Principal SIMS Professor Zohra Khanum chaired the seminar. Professor Zohra khanum appreciated the paediatric department & UNICEF for organizing this important scientific activity and high lighted the importance of prevention of preterm labour . Professor Tayyaba Wasim headed the panel discussion . Professor Rafiq delivered the lecture .Doctors from pediatric department , obstetrics & Gynecology department & other specialities and nurses attended the seminar.

Professor Tayyaba Khawar Butt emphasized that premature babies require special care and identified factors can decrease the risk of preterm birth .

The importance of mothers’ role in the development of newborns was highlighted . Professor Tayyaba Wasim, Head of Gynecology Department Services Hospital Lahore highlighted the factors related to neonatal morbidity & mortality.

Seminar concluded with vote of thanks specially to UNICEF & team.
