On 11th Sept 2025 a one day workshop on “NEONATAL RESUSCITATION” was held by Paediatrics Department UNIT 1 at Hamayun Iqbal Conference Room. Under the patronage of Prof. Zohra Khanum Principal SIMS / SHL and Under the Leadership of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafique.

Facilitators were : Prof.Dr. Muhammad Rafique HOD Paediatrics , Dr. Fatima Tahira , Dr. Bushra Madni , Dr. Sehrish and Senior Registers.

A large number of participants from Department of Pediatrics’ Pediatric surgery and Gynae Departments including faculty, Residents’ House officers, head nurses and staff nurses were attendees. Pre and post workshop tests were organized. interactive briefing, discussion on case scenarios and hands on practice were the contents of the workshop. Basic objective was to make the professionals skillful for neonatal resuscitation and helping the babies breath at time of birth which may reduce the neonatal mortality rate as well as morbidity in later life.

Prof. Rafique HOD pediatrics welcome the facilitators and attendees and enlightened the participants regarding importance of the workshop and its objectives. Participants gained knowledge and skill to help the babies breath. He appreciated the workshop organizers and facilitators.
