On 15th April, 2025, Services Institute of Medical Sciences Lahore celebrated Pakistan Physiological Society (PPS) 38th anniversary with a commemorative meetup attended by physiology professors, alongside distinguished guests. The event hosted by the Department of Physiology, was graced by the Principal Services Institute of Medical Sciences / Services Hospital Lahore , Prof Zohra Khanum who joined in honoring the society’s legacy

Dr. Muhammad Shoaib commenced the program with recitation of few verses of holy QURAN and introductory address; emphasizing PPS’s enduring contributions to the field especially research. Prof.Hamid Javaid Qureshi and Prof. Muhammad Shafiq highlighted the society’s pivotal role in advancing physiological research and its impact on healthcare and academia.

Prof Naila Hamid and other worthy physiology professors from king Edward medical university, Fatima Jinnah medical university, Ameer ud din medical college, CMH medical college, Shalimar medical and dental college, FMH medical and dental college also lauded PPS’s achievements and shared tributes to its decades of excellence. Professor from Anatomy and Community Medicine also attended the celebration.

The event concluded with a cake cutting ceremony and group photo capturing the gathering’s spirit of camaraderie, followed by a heartfelt thank-you note by Prof. Muhammad Shoaib, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their dedication to fostering scientific collaboration and innovation.

Worthy principal highlighted the importance of physiology and research and encouraged to celebrate such events at Institutional level.
