First ever simulation week: An innovative step in medical training

The Skills and Simulation Lab at Services Hospital Lahore successfully hosted its final day of simulation week focusing on Pediatric Medicine and Orthopedics. Organized under the patronage of Principal SIMS Prof. Zohra Khanum, the session provided hands-on training with advanced simulators to enhance clinical skills.
Prof. Dr. Nadeem Aslam, Head of the Department of Surgery, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of simulation-based training in fostering professional growth and safe medical practices.
Key participants included Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafique (Head, Department of Pediatrics Unit II), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhtar (Head, Department of Orthopedics II), Dr. Muhammad Azhar Farooq (Associate Professor, Pediatrics Unit I), Dr. Muhammad Sohail Razzaq (Associate Professor, Orthopedics Unit I), Dr. Arif Mehmood (Associate Professor, Orthopedics Unit II), and Dr. Muhammad Sher Afghan (Associate Professor, Orthopedics Unit II), along with their teams of assistant professors, senior registrars, and residents.
The attendees expressed keen interest in the advanced simulators and praised the program for its practical approach. The event concluded with a collective commitment to conduct regular workshops and develop accredited training courses for trainees and junior consultants.
