First ever simulation week: An innovative step in Medical Training
On 11th December 2024, the second day of the Simulation Week was successfully held at the Skills and Simulation Lab, Services Hospital Lahore, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Zohra Khanum, Principal Services Institute of Medical Sciences / Services Hospital Lahore. The workshop focused on advanced simulation training for the Gynecology & Obstetrics and Radiology departments. Principal SIMS Prof. Zohra Khanum emphasized the vital role of master trainers in mentoring juniors and shared the institute’s vision for accredited simulation courses.
The event began with a warm welcome by Prof. Dr. Nadeem Aslam, Head of the Department of Surgery, who briefed the participants about the day’s activities and highlighted the importance of simulation training in modern medical education.
Distinguished faculty in attendance included Prof. Dr. Mahliqa Maqsood (Gynecology & Obstetrics), Dr. Amna Khanum (Associate Professor, Gynecology & Obstetrics), Dr. Rukhsana Nazir, and Dr. Iram Iqbal (Associate Professors, Radiology), along with their teams. Participants showed great interest in the advanced equipment and praised the program for its innovation and utility. The day concluded with a shared commitment to creating new training programs for junior consultants and residents.
