The Simsonian Research Club (1st Year Chapter) was formally inaugurated under the patronage of Professor Zohra Khanum, Principal, SIMS/SHL, Lahore.

The event was organized under the supervision of Professor Fatima Naumeri, Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery, SIMS, and In-Charge of the Research Club. She presented the proposed framework and outlined the plan for future academic and research activities of the club.

The guest speaker for the occasion was Professor Nazish Imran, Head of the Department of Child and Family Psychiatry, KEMU. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and currently serves as Chief Editor of the Annals of KEMU. Professor Imran delivered an enlightening lecture on “Artificial Intelligence in Medical Research”, highlighting its applications, challenges, and potential in shaping the future of healthcare.

The certified seminar was aimed at enhancing the academic competence of first-year medical students while encouraging them to actively participate in research initiatives. It is anticipated that this effort will contribute significantly to the promotion of research culture and the advancement of evidence-based practices within the institution and is accordance to the vision of Principal SIMS/ SHL, LHR.
