SIMS "Total Knee Arthroplasty" Pre-Conference Workshop

SIMS / Services institute of medical sciences , Academic Council meeting , was held on 08 May 2026 under the chairpersonship of Principal SIMS/SHL Prof. Zohra Khanum. The meeting was attended by members of the Academic Council, faculty representatives, and administrative officials to discuss important academic, administrative, and institutional matters.
During the meeting, the council , discussed the upcoming visit of PM&DC .
The council discussed the schedules for de’ Montmorency College of Dentistry for the clinical training of BDS students at SIMS/SHL following the approval of the Government of Punjab. Important academic matters including UHS guidelines for student electives, Terms of Reference (TORs) for the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and Institutional Grievance Committee, and the roles and responsibilities of Academic Year Coordinators were also discussed in detail.

Furthermore, the Academic Council considered matters related to the certain on going and upcoming projects for enhancing patient care and comfort .
The meeting concluded with constructive discussions and recommendations aimed at strengthening academic standards, student facilitation, and institutional development at SIMS/SHL.

State-of-the-art lectures delivered by leading Orthopaedic surgeons — Prof. Dr. Rashid Saeed, Prof. Dr. Ali Raza Hashmi, and Associate Professor Dr. Sher Afgan — significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of this complex topic.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Prof. Zohra Khanum, Principal SIMS, and Prof. Rakshan Shaheen Najmi, Ex-Professor/HOD of the Gynaecology Department, SIMS/SHL. The Principal appreciated the organizers for arranging academic and interactive workshop, which also included hands-on practice on saw bones.
