The Diabetes Updates: Practical Tools & Case-Based Learning workshop was held on 8th October 2024 at the Institute of Endocrinology & Metabolic Diseases, Services Institute of Medical Sciences / Services Hospital Lahore, in collaboration with the Pakistan Endocrine Society.

Principal SIMS Professor Zohra Khanum was the chief guest at the event. The course faculty included Professor Khadija Irfan Khawaja, Dr Mehwish Iftikhar, Dr Amena Moazzum and Dr Saira Burney, who delivered insightful talks on novel insulin therapies, MASLD, and GLP-1 agonists, followed by an interactive workshop on insulin pumps and CGMS. Case-based discussions focused on diabetic foot management, T1DM in teenagers, and diabetic kidney disease and were led by Dr Umair Ashfaq, Dr Awais Butt and Dr Sohaib Haider. The event was chaired by Professor Muhammad Aftab and Dr Amna Rizvi. The workshop provided a hands-on learning experience for medicine and endocrinology residents and general practitioners, enhancing their clinical skills in diabetes management. The program was well-received, with active participation and positive feedback from attendees.
