Introduction of Department

The Urology department is functioning at the 1^st floor of emergency. The Urology Department is attached with Services Institute of Medical Sciences Lahore. The detail of Urology staff is as under:

Professor:01, Associate Professor : 01, PMO(Regular):01, Assistant Professors:03,  Senior Registrar (Regular): 02, Medical Officer: 03, Registrar:01, PG Trainees:09 and HOs:04.

At present urology department consist of Male Beds:34, Female Beds:14, Renal Transplant+ICU:04, Urodynamic, Lithotripsy and Heamodialysis Units.

Urology department is the busiest department of the hospital and is a center of excellence for treatment of peoples from all over the Punjab. Past few years have witnessed a tremendous increase in workload but Urology department is working 24/7 days in a week and only teaching ward which OPD clinics 4 days a week in Punjab, 03 operation lists and 24/7 emergency cover. We receive more than 3000 patients per month in OPD, perform more than 100 major surgeries per month and deal all of this with scarcity of resources.

 The department also provides clinical teaching/training to the undergraduates and postgraduate students. After renovation of Urology department, it will become useful for another 10 years and simultaneously health delivery will automatically be improved due to better/hygienic environment and provision of better equipment.

The department has maintained commitment to research and training. Our continued efforts in clinical and laboratory research are reflected in an outstanding record of publications, grant support, and presentations at regional meetings.

The department of Urology is committed in offering the highest quality urologic care, innovative research programs and an outstanding education for future leaders in the field.
